Telaah Kritis Terhadap Pandangan Muhammad ‘Imarah Tentang Hermeneutika

This study aims to critically analyze the views of Muhammad 'Imarah, a contemporary Egyptian thinker, on the discourse of hermeneutics that has developed in Islamic studies. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach through library research. The focus of the study is directed at criticizing 'Imarah's views on hermeneutics, which he considers unusable in understanding the text of the Qur'an. The results of this study indicate that Muhammad 'Imarah has actually positioned hermeneutics as a 'product' so that he draws conclusions such as those that occur in biblical texts. However, if we position hermeneutics as a 'tool' for understanding or interpreting the Qur'an, it is undeniable that things that are not in accordance with Islamic faith must be criticized or rejected.
